You are required to request at least three fandoms (and up to 10) and offer four fandoms (up to ten). You must offer two tags for each fandom (or "Any" if there are 0-1 tags in a fandom). You are able to request and offer up to twenty characters/relationships. If you request or offer "Any" it means "any character or relationship tag in our approved tagset", so please keep that in mind when requesting or offering. Requests are visible from the beginning, so you can offer confident in what will be requested this year.

Matching is OR. If you request a fandom and request two tags in the fandom (such as group: A/B, and A), your artist/vidder/writer only has to include one "set" (in this case, either A/B or A on their own). Please keep this in mind when signing up!

Finally, a reminder if you defaulted after the no-penalty default deadline in previous years, you have until signups close to finalize your makeup work and get a link mailed to me. EDIT: Due to an oversight, I have forgotten to enable "Any" for offers. If you are offering something with only one relationship nominated, please let me know which fandom it is and I will insert a dummy character tag for you to offer as your second tag. This offer is solely for fandoms with one character/relationship.

 The signup deadline approaches! A couple of things before signups close.

Requesting/Offering "Any Character"
If you are offering or requesting "Any Character", please check the tag set to make sure that you want a gift about any character/relationship in that tag set, or that you want to create a work for any character/relationship in that tag set. If there is any exception to you genuinely being fine with requesting or offering every tag in that fandom, now is a really good time to modify your signup to reflect that.  Also, please ensure that the characters/relationships you have prompted for are in the tag set.

Optional Details in Offers
As already covered over here, the Optional Details field in Offers was left on by accident and I won't be using it for matching. Feel free to write stuff in there, but it will have no impact on what you are assigned to create (except under extraordinary circumstances).

Initially Unmatchables and Additional Offers
When signups close, I will be running matching. If no one is able to create for you you will be an initial pinch hit. If you are not able to create for anyone, you will be contacted and asked to provide additional fandoms or tags for matching purposes. You will have 24 hours to respond. Requests are visible, so as the signup deadline draws near just check to make sure you have some possibilities.

Contact with Participants
Please do not contact your fellow participants directly about their requests while the exchange is running. I will be the conduit for all contact of that nature.

Penalty Works
If you were defaulted by me at deadline either in 2015 or 2016 you are not eligible to participate this year until you complete your assignment from that year, and contact me with it. If you are not sure if you are one of these people, email me at press.start.mod@gmail and I'll let you know.

Signup Countdown

Signups close in about a day and a half (though they might run a little over time). Your countdown is here! I will not be allowing anyone to sign up late once signups close, because I am very keen to start the matching process and give you all the maximum amount of time to create, so please keep that in mind!

Trophies

This year, we have achievement trophies! I'm in the process of compiling a list of possible trophies for us to achieve. You can read the list here! I am also taking suggestions as to additional achievement trophies. They can be serious, or they can be really silly. I personally would love more silly achievement trophies! If you want a trophy to exist for f/fpreg, or transdimensional selfcest, or time travel shenanigans, or AU shenanigans, now is your chance! You have until assignments go out to help me come up with more trophies. I will also take suggestions on what the current trophies should be called, and whether a trophy should be moved from one category to another.

EDIT: I'm in the process of adding trophies for games/series/etc. If your game of choice doesn't have a trophy, please suggest something to me in the comments! I am probably stuck for ideas.

 With 34 participants!  Matching is underway, and is currently on "AND" matching for characters.  If you have not received an email then you have a person to write for, and there will be a handful of pinch hits coming out once I have responses from people I have emailed.  Assignments will also go out at that time.

I'm excited, you guys!  This exchange is going to be great.

Signups are open!  The signup form is here!  The tagset is here.  There is a known bug where not all characters appear in the drop down menu when you try to signup; please just copy and paste the name as it appears in the tagset.  

Currently matching is being done on an AND basis. This means that for a person to be matched to your request, they must have offered all of the characters you have requested.  If, however, we need to go to OR matching (meaning that a person just has to offer one of the characters you requested to be matched to you) I will let all the participants know.

Also I'm in the process of preparing something special, and I need your help. In the comments to this post, I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me your favorite field music, battle music, and boss music tracks.  Thanks! Happy signups!
