Nominations have closed and I have some queries:
  • Final Fantasy VII - How do you want this named? I was considering Final Fantasy VII (Original Timeline), would that work for you?
  • Hitman - There are nominations for Hitman: Absolution, Hitman: Blood Money, Hitman: Contracts, Hitman: Silent Assassin, Hitman: World of Assination Trilogy, and Hitman (Video Games), and there are very similar nominations inside each of them. Are these all in continuity with one another?
  • Doctor Who: Destiny of the Doctors (Video Game 1997) - I'm not sure this is eligible. Is it in continuity with the main series, and how important are the Doctor, the Master, and Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart to the game?
  • Life is Strange (Video Games) - Can you please tell me which individual titles these characters/relationships belong to?

Any duplications or issues with nominations, now is your chance to tell me! Signups open on 2 July, and I look forward to seeing you all there!

Here's the individual games for the Life is Strange nominations:

    Life is Strange
    Chloe Price (Life is Strange)
Group: Maxine Caulfield/Chloe Price (Life is Strange)
    Maxine Caulfield (Life is Strange)
    Victoria Chase (Life is Strange)

    Life is Strange 2
Group: Finn/Hannah/Sean Diaz (Life is Strange)
Group: Hannah/Sean Diaz & Daniel Diaz (Life is Strange)

    Life is Strange: True Colors
    Alex Chen (Life is Strange)
Group: Alex Chen/Ryan Lucan (Life is Strange)
Group: Alex Chen/Steph Gingrich (Life is Strange)
Group: Gabe Chen/Charlotte Harmon (Life is Strange)

It looks like all the ones that would go into Life is Strange: True Colors also have duplicates within that fandom with the disambiguation (Life is Strange True Colors).

    Hitman.

Not the nominator, but I'd say yes, they're all in continuity - Agent 47 and Diana Burnwood are present in each entry in some capacity, and there is a generally agreed upon timeline that incorporates all the games.

That being said, some people refer to the "World of Assassination Trilogy," which are the newest three Hitman video games, as a reboot since they were designed to reduce continuity lockout for new players and kind of gloss over major things from Absolution, the previous entry.. However, the developers said they are sequels to Absolution, there's references to the other games, and nothing directly contradicts events in the previous entries. I tend to lean towards the latter myself, but I have sympathy for the former, since a number of people who've played the trilogy have in all likelihood never played the earlier games.

So I could see two ways I'd categorize this - Hitman (Video Games) and lump everything together in it, or Hitman (2000-2012) and Hitman: World of Assassination Trilogy.

ETA: Changed years of Hitman since I accidentally excluded the first game.
