Pre-Nominations Queries

Nominations for this year's Press Start open on the 13th and in the meantime now would be a good time for us all to sort out how fandoms should be nominated. If you hold a view that a fandom should be nominated in a particular way, leave a comment to start off the discussion. If you also have any queries about whether something is eligible, now is also the time to check!

I'm of the opinion that the Final Fantasy VII Remake should be nominated separately from the rest of the Compilation of FFVII. It's a new continuity (ish) and should be separated for anyone who wants to request the old continuity.

I agree: existing characters have expanded stories, some plot elements and the timeline change, and new characters are added.

I was just going to comment with this fandom! I think splitting them is best and if a story is both Remake and Original compliant, then the author can note that in the tags/author's notes.

I agree too! Some people may also want a split between the Original Game and the Compilation, though I personally don't mind combining those.

I can't remember what the rules on nominating things that aren't out yet, but The Last of Us Part II comes out on the 19th of this month. Is that still eligible for nominations?

Jumping off of that - not sure how AO3 is going to handle it, but how do people feel lumping The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part II together as a single nomination? On one hand, they're both the same characters/continuity, but on the other hand, with Part II about to come out, I don't know if anyone wants to keep them separate for the sake of avoiding spoilers or even to focus on one story over another. Tags can definitely be used to warn people, but I imagine some people might not even want to take that chance. Thoughts?

Odd continuity query.
I would like to nominate The Silver Case+Flower Sun and Rain+The 25th Ward as a single canon. Presently, AO3 has a single "The Silver Case" tag for TSC and its direct sequel 25W, while dreamscape midquel Flower Sun and Rain has a separate tag that is almost 100% also tagged with The Silver Case because of overlapping characters and events.
Outside AO3, the three games are generally known as the "Kill the past" series. But while they constitute the main narrative of Kill the past a/o are the only three games everyone agrees are part of the series to begin with, there's a number of other works by the same author that cross over in various ways, like Killer7 and No More Heroes. https://suda51.fandom.com/wiki/Kill_the_Past
I only want no request and offer the three core games, but then again I'm only going to nominate characters from the three core games. Should I nominate them under "The Silver Case" or under the broader "Kill The Past" umbrella, leaving room for others to nominate from the other connected games if anyone wants to?
