Our reveal time was scheduled for 6am EST on 10 September. As these have not been claimed, I am pushing our archive reveal time back to 1am EST on 12 September, with these pinch hits due at 11:59pm EST on 11 September. Nominations have closed and I have some queries:

Final Fantasy VII - How do you want this named? I was considering Final Fantasy VII (Original Timeline), would that work for you?
Hitman - There are nominations for Hitman: Absolution, Hitman: Blood Money, Hitman: Contracts, Hitman: Silent Assassin, Hitman: World of Assination Trilogy, and Hitman (Video Games), and there are very similar nominations inside each of them. Are these all in continuity with one another?
Doctor Who: Destiny of the Doctors (Video Game 1997) - I'm not sure this is eligible. Is it in continuity with the main series, and how important are the Doctor, the Master, and Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart to the game?
Life is Strange (Video Games) - Can you please tell me which individual titles these characters/relationships belong to?

I have some queries:

Life is Strange - I have nominations for "Life is Strange (Video Games)", "Life is Strange (Video Game)" and "Life is Strange: True Colors (Video Game)". There are also some nominations for Life is Strange 2 inside Life is Strange (Video Games). How do you all want this to be handled?
Hitman - There are nominations for Hitman: Absolution, Hitman: Blood Money, Hitman: Contracts, Hitman: Silent Assassin, Hitman: World of Assination Trilogy, and Hitman (Video Games), and there are very similar nominations inside each of them. Are these all in continuity with one another?
Bravely Default (Video Game) & Related Fandoms - Do you want this merged together or Bravely Default + Bravely Second separated out from Bravely Default II?
Final Fantasy VII - At the moment the two timelines are called Final Fantasy VII Remake (Video Game 2020) and Final Fantasy VII (Video Game 1997) despite the fact that the second is inaccurate because it also includes Before Crisis, Crisis Core (excluding possibly Crisis Core Reunion...?) etc. Do these labels work for you or do you want a different one? Also, if you are the nominator who has nominated both original timeline and remake timeline in the one fandom nomination, please fix that up!
Doctor Who: Destiny of the Doctors (Video Game 1997) - I'm not sure this is eligible. Can you explain how the Doctor, the Master, and Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart are different to their main counterparts?
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy (2021 Video Game) - is this based on the MCU or is it its own original work?

Nominations are open! You may find the tagset here! Sorry everyone for the delay, I went down with a migraine and words were hard.

Before we start nominating, some preliminary information.

Character Nominations
You are able to nominate characters and character combinations! This means the following:

Character A (video game title) - A fanwork where Character A must be the focus;
group: Character A & Character B (video game title) - A fanwork where the gen relationship of Character A and Character B is the focus;
group: Character A/Character B (video game title) - a fanwork where the shippy relationship of Character A and Character B is the focus. You are also free to nominate group: Character A/Original Male Character or group: Character A/Original Female Character.
group: Character A/Character B & Character C (video game title) - a fanwork where the shippy relationship between Character A and B, as well as their gen relationships with Character C are the focus.

The above examples are for two-three characters, but there is no maximum for how many characters can fit into a relationship tag (outside of the character limit in the nomination form itself).

Matching is "OR", meaning that you match on a tag. If you want Character A and Character B in your gift, nominate them as a group. If you nominate each of them separately your creator only has to include one of them. Please keep that in mind when nominating!

Putting the video game title in brackets after your nomination is essential. This is to aid me in identifying wandering tags and in cases where some fandoms are synned to each other in weird ways I can force the tags to go where they need to. Do not nominate without it! You also can shorten the prefix of "Group" as required, but please do not remove it entirely. We are doing our best to limit the use of canonical tags so that tags don't wander, hence putting a prefix in front of a relationship tag.

Crossover Fandoms
Crossover character combinations are eligible.

There are some basic rules.

When nominating a crossover, the fandom is Crossover Fandom. I have already nominated Crossover Fandom into the tag set so please use that spelling. Not nominating a crossover into this fandom will mean that nomination will be rejected;
Nominations can be for gen fic or ship fic;
Nominations are to be written like this: Group: Character A (Video Game 1) & Character B (Video Game 2) (or group: Character A (Video Game)/Character B (Video Game 2) though, as above, "Group" can be shortened as required;
There is no limit of the number of characters that are in a tag set, short of AO3's character limit;
All characters in the crossover combination must be video game characters.

Series of Games
The test for whether a game is part of a series and should be nominated as one is as follows:

Is the game marketed as being part of a series (i.e. a trilogy, games set in the same world etc etc);
Are the games that make up the series part of the same continuity or different continuity;
Is there a significant crossover of major characters between the games?

At the moment:

Dragon Age (Video Games) is the correct tag for any nomination for Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age II, and Dragon Age Inquisition;
Mass Effect Andromeda is a separate game to the Mass Effect Trilogy;
Final Fantasy games are separate to one another, except for the ones that are explicitly in continuity with each other (so, Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 are one nomination, but Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy X are not);
Kingdom Hearts is a separate continuity to Final Fantasy;
The Star Ocean games can be nominated separately;
The Kiseki/Trails series can be nominated as individual series (i.e. Sora, Sen etc etc)
Fallout can be nominated separately.
Final Fantasy VII should be nominated by timeline (original timeline, Remake timeline) - I am taking suggestions about how these groups should be named. I am willing to explain why I want separate nominations if anyone is curious.
Assassin Creed games are by individual subseries.
Danganronpa is to be nominated into Dangan Ronpa (Hope's Peak Arc) and Danganronpa v3. Hope's Peak Arc includes Danganronpa, Danganronpa 2 and Ultra Despair Girls.

If you are considering nominating a game that could be a series, or could be a tie-in, please drop a comment below so that I can hash it out with you first.

Eligibility of Games
For a game to be eligible it must:

Be released by the time that signups close; and
Not be heavily dependent on another, non-video game canon.
If it is a game that is coming out in instalments, one instalment must be released.

Finally, a reminder: if you defaulted after the no-penalty default deadline in previous years, you remain ineligible to participate in this round until you complete your penalty gift. If you don't remember what you need to do, please email me and I will let you know what you need to do!

You are required to request at least three fandoms (and up to 10) and offer four fandoms (up to ten). You must offer two tags for each fandom (or "Any" if there are 0-1 tags in a fandom). You are able to request and offer up to twenty characters/relationships. If you request or offer "Any" it means "any character or relationship tag in our approved tagset", so please keep that in mind when requesting or offering. Requests are visible from the beginning, so you can offer confident in what will be requested this year.

Matching is OR. If you request a fandom and request two tags in the fandom (such as group: A/B, and A), your artist/vidder/writer only has to include one "set" (in this case, either A/B or A on their own). Please keep this in mind when signing up!

Finally, a reminder if you defaulted after the no-penalty default deadline in previous years, you have until signups close to finalize your makeup work and get a link mailed to me.
