And that's a wrap for 2016! I am pleased to say that we have unlocked one last achievement: I've Seen A Million Gifts and I Commented On Them All. The achievement spreadsheet shall be updated once gdocs behaves itself for me. If you have not yet commented on your gift, please do so!

I'm also interested in hearing what you thought of this year's exchange! Anything you liked about it and would like to see in future years? Anything you'd like tweaked, changed, removed entirely? I'm all ears! I'm particularly interested in the following:
  • Achievements;
  • Crossover pairings;
  • Relationship matching.

Achievements- They were fun! I liked the idea. I wish I could have treated, but I ran out of time.

Crossover pairings- I'm indifferent on this.

Relationship matching- I liked this very much as I prefer reading and writing shippy fic.

Thanks for running this! You did a really great job!

Ysavvryl on AO3 here. Here's some thoughts:

Achievements: Those were fun, I thought of them as an extra little challenge(though other than my speedrunner writing techniques getting a treating achievement met, the only one I actually tried for was the cow one because it fit naturally and why not add cows?)

Crossover pairings: While these can be fun, the main issue I have with them is that they're harder to get a story for because the requester and the writer need to know both fandoms. But it's a nice option to have.

Relationship matching: Ships are not the big draw to me personally in fanfics, but I know most people like seeing this. It is a good point to match participants and have a good starting point, so I'd say keep it.

Other: This is a minor convenience thing, but I found out about this exchange through AO3 itself and the only way I had to get here was to click the link at the bottom of the exchange profile. Would you please set a link at the top of the profile next time?

I really enjoyed this exchange, thanks so much for running it!

Achievements - They were great! And pushed me to write one more fic in a few places. I think I'd like it if some of them were more achievable - as many fics per fandom as requests (or 1 more than), for example, as I don't think I could write five whole stories for only one person's prompt!

Crossover pairings - I think they were handled well, though I didn't request or write any.

Relationship matching - I loved this, and I hope you keep it! 'Ship matching is my favorite matching.

Other - In general, I'd love a sticky post with links (or links in the sidebar) to the AO3 collection, and maybe the achievement spreadsheet too. Also, a link to the collection from the tagset, if that's possible?

I had a great time, and thank you for running this again. It helps that video game fandom is my home territory, of course, so I was probably going to have fun no matter what, but everything went very smoothly, and I ended up having a ton of things to read in the collection, though I wish I had allotted myself time for treating other writers.

-- Achievements are a fun addition, and I would like to see them again next time.

-- No thoughts to share on crossover pairings, since I did not request any (and had none requested of me).

-- While this is not technically a shippy exchange, I do find the relationship matching helpful, all the more so because I tend to write shippy stories, anyway.

Thanks for running this! I had a great time doing art for games.

Achievements -- Fun!

Crossover pairings -- Indifferent

Relationship matching -- I'm fine with it as long as there's always an option for me to request and offer single characters, and I like "&" options as well.

I wanted to write crossovers for others but I think I was the only one that requested any.

This was my first year but I had a great time. I wish I had been paying attention at nominations time so I could have put some of my faves in the tag set, but even with a limited range of fandoms I knew, it was one of the most fun exchanges I've done all year. Thanks for running it!

The achievements worked really well as an extra motivator for treating etc. And really nicely in keeping thematically.

Utterly indifferent on crossover pairings; I'd be unlikely to nominate any but if someone put something amazing I'd never thought of before in the tag set I'd probably offer it.

I strongly approve of relationship matching because it makes me feel much more confident writing shipfic if I know that the recip definitely wants that exact ship. I especially like the model used here (and that I think I've seen in some other exchange, but I can't remember which) where relationships are treated as characters for tag set purposes, just stated in a special format.
